How do I set up a web hosting account through Yadkin Valley Telecom?

Step 1
The first thing that must be done in order to have a web hosting account with Yadkin Valley Telecom is to register a Virtual Domain Name. A domain is the name that you would like to assign to your website. For example, the domain name for Yadkin Valley Telephone is yadtel.net. There are several sites online where you may register, such as domainbank.com or godaddy.com. Who you decide to use is up to you. There will be a charge for registering a domain. When registering, you will be asked to provide technical contact and server information provided by us. Please contact customer service for this information before you begin. We cannot walk you through the registration process since we are unable to see what is being done on your screen.

Step 2
Once you have your domain name registered contact Yadkin Valley Telecom in order to get your domain name set up for hosting. We will need to know who your domain name was registered with, the registration date, and the expiration date. You must also decide on which web hosting package that you would like to subscribe to. These packages can be viewed on http://www.yadtel.net/residential/hosting.html. There is a monthly fee associated with the packages and a one time set-up fee of $50. Please let us know if you have any special instructions regarding your web site design, such as the need for Front Page extensions. You may register a domain at anytime and hold this for as long as you want, but once we set you up you will be charged the monthly package fee.

Step 3
When we have done everything that is needed to set up your domain hosting you will be contacted with information regarding publishing your website.

How do I transfer my domain name to Yadkin Valley Telecom?
You will have to provide our technical contact and server information to the company that registered your domain name. If you do not remember this information, you may go to another registry site and do a transfer from there. After doing this, contact Yadkin Valley Telecom and provide us with the information needed to set up your web hosting. There is a set up fee of $50 and a monthly fee depending on which web hosting package you decide to go with.
